Hola chicas, wao que exito nuestro primer reto en Latinas en America, muchas gracias por el apoyo y felicidades a la ganadora del primer reto. Hoy ya tenemos nuestro segundo Reto que consiste en hacer un projecto de Navidad utilizando los colores Rojo, Verde y Botones, bello verdad! Hi my crafty friends!!! I finally finish the 4 Minis for the Teachers!!! Yupi I hope they like them. I used two Didi stamps from Some Odd Girl, I love them and for the first time I used Prismacolors to paint them, I'm not to good at it, but I like how it came out!!!

Hi! . . . This is Karla from kalittlescrapcorner.blogspot.com ! As you may know by now, Cooking With Cricut is having a month long Blogoversary Cele"bear"ation with postings and giveaways every day during the month of May - and each and every day there will be some kind of celebration posted.

My celebration for this day is my wedding anniversary; today is my 6th anniversary and what better way to celebrate than with this double layout full of hearts. Is something very simple but very in tuned with the occasion don't you think? I love it!!!! For this project I used the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge to make the word Love and some hearts. Hoy les quiero hablar un poco de mi pais llamado Venezuela, desde pequeña mi mama siempre se ha destacado en la cocina, dios bendiga sus manos y estando fuera de mi pais desde hace ya casi 8 años, ella siempre me recuerda mis raices a traves de su cocina!!! Aqui les describo un poco nuestra cocina y lo que mas me gusta Dulcería Criolla- Venezolana

Adentrarse en la gastronomía venezolana es sumergirse en un mundo de aromas y sabores que delinean el espacio de una cocina de marcados gustos y llamativos colores, de raíces indígenas y de hereditaria influencia europea, la cocina de estas tierras es la fusión de varias culturas, sin por eso dejar de ser dueña de una marcada personalidad. Se caracteriza por el uso del maíz, yuca, plátano, ají, granos, tubérculos, caña de azúcar, carnes y aves variadas, de donde derivan platos con sabores únicos y extraordinarios.

Cuando hablamos de dulcería venezolana nos referimos a una lista extensa de postres, tortas, golosinas y demás dulces, que con el pasar del tiempo se han hecho parte de nuestras tradiciones y de nuestras costumbres culinarias. En un principio contamos con una gama de dulces que se confeccionaban básicamente con papelón, harina de maíz y frutas como el coco, el cambur y la guayaba. Su procedencia es de origen indígena y son parte de nuestro menú desde tiempos inmemoriales, ejemplo de estos son : el "manjarete" que con el tiempo se le eliminó la "n" y se le llamó majarete, y consiste en una mezcla de harina de maíz, papelón, leche y coco rallado, espolvoreado con canela; los gofios y el tequiche, preparados con una base de papelón y harina de maíz tostado, al gofio se le añade jengibre, al tequiche coco.

También son reconocidas las melcochas, los besitos y las conservas de coco, los coquitos, el pan de horno, hecho de harina de maíz tostado y papelón, la hueca, de papelón, las naiboas de casabe relleno con papelón y queso y muchos otros. Otra gama de dulces son los que destacaron en la época de la colonia, estos son el resultado de la unión de diferentes etnias, resaltando la influencia española que unida íntimamente a las costumbres y a los ingredientes venezolanos, crearon matrimonios gastronómicos maravillosos que en estos tiempos halagan nuestro paladar, estos son el caso de los flanes y quesillos, de leche, de piña, naranja, guayaba,guanábana y de coco; tortas como la de jojoto y de auyama, la torta melosa con pan y queso, el esponjoso e inolvidable negro en camisa, la torta bejarana preparada con plátanos maduros, queso blanco rallado, mantequilla, pan de horno, papelón, bizcocho de manteca, clavos de especies y ajonjolí. La torta de queso caraqueña, la torta de crema de almendras, las tortas de plátano, la torta criolla de pan, la torta negra, esa oscura delicia navideña; los bizcochuelos; el bienmesabe una deliciosa crema de leche de coco, huevo, bizcochuelo, sabor de vino dulce o brandy y aroma de canela. Con sus variaciones de piña, naranja, y guanábana. Las gelatinas de leche y de frutas, el chantilly, ese cremoso postre desmoldado preparado con gelatinas, leche, azúcar y huevos, inconfundible por su color rosado; las jaleas de mango y guayaba.

Todos estos postre llegan, nacen y se perfeccionan en tiempos de la colonia y son parte importante de nuestra tradición culinaria. De igual forma destacan entre los postres más reconocidos de la cocina venezolana, los preparados en almíbar, compuestos de frutas y azúcar, aromatizados con ramas de canela ó clavitos de olor en algunas ocasiones, entre estos dulces se encuentra el de lechoza, que se acostumbra a preparar como postre navideño, los cascos de guayaba, naranja, limón ó parchita, el dulce de cabello de ángel, de higos y el de icacos. Infinidad de dulces en almíbar se preparan en nuestro país, peros los nombrados son algunos de los más reconocidos.

Existe además otra extensa lista de lo que llamaron "dulces finos" estos dulces también tienen su mayor expresión en la época de la colonia y en un principio eran elaborados por las monjas que seguían la antigua tradición colonial heredada de las monjas Concepciones y otras religiosas. Entre estos dulcitos encontramos: Los suspiros, piñonates de piña y coco, papitas de leche envueltas en polvo de canela, las yemitas, conservitas de todo tipo, de leche y chocolate, empanaditas y pastelitos dulces, torrejitas crujientes y azucaradas, las naranjitas, toronjitas, y cidras abrillantadas, jaleítas con la superficie cubierta de azúcar, papeloncitos blancos, de anís, de fruta, bizcochitos de vainilla o lenguas de gato, polvorosas, turrones de leche, tocinitos del cielo y mostachones, entre otros.

La lista de dulces y postres que encontramos en la culinaria venezolana es extensa y variada, llena de diferentes colores y sabores, variadas son las técnicas e ingredientes utilizados, en ella encontramos el maravilloso contraste de diferentes culturas y costumbres que fueron fusionadas por los acontecimientos históricos que ha vivido nuestro país.

Que rico no y que bello es mi pais!!! Aqui les dejo una muestra del trabajo hecho por mi bella mama, esto fue en diciembre del año pasado cuando hicimos nuestras famosas HALLLACAS, esto es un trabaj artesanal para mi, porque hay muchos pasos a seguir y nos tomo tres dias en hacerlas!!! aqui les enseño

Y esta pequeña tarjetica fue inspirada en mi sobrina que nacera en caracas en estoy dias!!! Lastima que no estara alla con mi hermano, pero mi corazon si lo estara, bendiciones para ellos!!!

Hi my crafty Ladies!!! I miss you all, sorry I haven't post on my blog lately because Last week my husband had a bad car accident and thank god his ok now. So back to the big NEWS!!! I love to ANNOUNCE I"m part of the New Desing Team of Paper Crafthing World!!! The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. The celebration occurs on November 1 and 2. So for my Celebration of Live I was inspired in my Grandmother Carmen Camahu, we called her like that,jejeje and I made a Explosion Box!!! in honor of her!!! She love to bake cakes and make special dishes for my brothers and me!!! The outside of the box I create the themed using Rock Princess and for the inside is partner paper and i will included recipes from her!!! I hope you like it!!!

So over at FANTABULOUS CRICUT CHALLENGE #33 Frighten me...or not, COOKING WITH CRICUT CHALLENGE #3 Not so spooky Halloween, MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #28 and PAPER PLAYTIME CHALLENGE #22 HALLOWWEN!!!

My mom ask me to make something for the door house and my two little ones help me!!! so they select from HELLO KITTY Greetings Cartridge the image of the bat and the pumpkin and I used also Happy Hauntings Cartridge and I made a Wreath!!! Love the final result!!! I ink the paper with black and brown, I used some embellishment and play with them!!! I hope you like my project and Have a SPOOKY HALLOWEEN!!!

This Layout is for my BF from Venezuela, she ask me to make her a layout for Summer!!!
I used one of my new cartridge form Cricut, I love love this cartridge it's Simply Charmed!!! I used the image from page 36 and 56!!! the two birds ans the tree!!!

For the Challenge, you will have to make a card for HALLOWEEN and use the colors Black, Green, Orange, Yellow and Purple!!! as well you will need to use the words BOO, SPOOKY or HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
El reto consiste en:
***Hacer una tarjeta con los colores de Halloween. Verde, Anaranjado, Negro, Morado, Amarillo, Etc.
La tarjeta debe tener unos de los siguientes mensajes: BOO, SPOOKY (significa, escalofriante, espantoso) ó HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Hi, all my crafty friends!!! This week I play with Made by Momo and Fantabulous Cricut. For the Tuesday Challenge #13, the theme is to use Green, Yellow and Orange and to do some kind of faux stitching or Doodling!!! and for Challenge me Monday #29 you had to Create a project using some type of stitching, hand, machine or faux stitching!!!
THIS IS MY CARD!!!

I used Cosco Cricket paper Nutmeg collection, Green and Orange cardstock, pop dots and The Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge. White gel pen for the stitching!!!

Swap At Paper Phenomenon!!!

This Swap is for Kathy, the Pita Queen and here are the details:

Swap details

Theme: Summer Time, create an unconventional tag of your most favorite summer memory. i.e: Summer Picnic, Summer at the Beach, amusement park, etc. What I mean by unconventional tag is to use another shape besides the conventional "tag" shape for your base.

1. Your tag must be backed on chipboard.
2. You are to make 5 identical tags. Your tags should be at least 3''x 5'' or larger
3. You must use your Cricut for at least one element of your tag. Preferably the main image or tag shape.
4. Your tag must be 3 dimensional. Create interest with popped up elements and layers.
5. You must include a self addressed envelope with postage equal to the amount it cost you to ship the package to me. This is not optional. If I don't receive a self addressed envelope with postage you will not received swapped tags.

My project is Summer BBQ and I cute all with my Cricut, It was a challenge to make this, since Kathy is so creative she challenge my to due somethings different, I hope you Like it!!!
